About Our Class

Year 5/6 consists of 28 students, 15 year 6 and 13 year 5. We have 22 girls and 6 boys.

The class is currently working on a unit about the solar sustem. Commencing term 3 the class will study government and democracy culminating (in early term 3) with an excursion to Canberra. In terms 3/4 the class will study explorers.

We have a wide range of skills in the class. There are several exceptional writers, artists actors, excellent sportspeople and just lots of "nice"people. The current focus is on home reading, poetry, aquisition of skills in mathematics, research, computers, writing and comprehension skills.

Students are encouraged to participate in the school competitions: mathematics (term 1), spelling (term 2) and writing (term 3). In addition, participation in the University of NSW competitions is strongly recommended.

Year 5/6 is always very busy. Running our school parliament is a huge responsibility for our leaders but they are coping well.

2012 will be lots of fun!
