MINUTES OF THE General meeting of Hinton School P & C Association Inc. 20th June 2007 Welcome to new members Kaylene Kennerson and Kim Lantry Meeting opened @7:10 pm N Meredith presiding Present & Apologies : as per attendance book. Minutes: The minutes of the previous meeting were read and passed as true and correct. M: S Baird S: L Douglass Business arising from minutes: Cockroach spraying has been done in the canteen. Bunnings- Dates to try for 26 Aug, 9 Sept, 16 Sept. Staci doing the legwork. More info to follow. Correspondence: (In and Out) as per book. Fundraising items handed to Fete committee M: C Davies S: S Baird Treasurers Report: No report presented. Report next month Presidents Report: P&C information night we attended was very good and informative. Floods disrupted classes. Concreting for turning circle is done. Uniform Coordinator: Orders for uniforms will now be done on a monthly basis. Notification will be posted in advance. Canteen Supervisor: No report presented Principals Report: Flood- We were contacted by the SES and told to vacate the school. A big thank you to everyone who helped. The children were terrific and so was the bus company. It was distressing to find a large number of contact numbers were incorrect, could everyone please notify the office of updated information. The school was closed for the 4 day week as it was deemed unsafe for students and staff. An extra big Thank you to Helen who came in on her days off to assist both during the evacuation and the school closure. Star Struck- information as per the newsletter. Talent quest, Athletics carnival- as per newsletter Wetlands excursion postponed until possibly term 4- the centre is very heavily booked. More to follow Would like to purchase a trophy display case for the main office area. Trophies are currently located in the library and not enough people get to see them. Any suggestions? Uniform policy statement- please look at it and we will discuss any procedures for changing. Annual report-has been distributed. Pleas advise of any suggestions about lay out etc. S Baird and S Wilson Lambert have volunteered to be P&C representatives for next year’s report. Thank You! Thank you to Narelle Meredith, Peter Evans, Mark Corey and others for the turning circle General Business: Uniforms- samples of bottle green pants present, one pleated, the other one elastic waist, rugger style. Vote called. 6 in favour, nil against the pleated pant. 0 in favour and one against the rugger style. 2 members abstained from voting. Bottle green pleated pant passed as an additional item for the school uniform. Supplier to be LW Reid. sell price To be announced. Pie drive is going well. Activity Van was terrific- letter of thank you to be sent out. Fundraising Committee K Kennerson and K Lantry have volunteered. Term 3- Trivia Night Term 4- Car Rally More info to follow. WATCH THIS SPACE!!! School board at the front entrance-Times of meeting and Principal need to be fixed. Mr Sharkey to follow up. Kim and Kaylene are investigating the type of paints required to refurbish the concrete stencils in the school.
