Captains/Prefect Election Criteria

  •  Candidates nominate themselves for election.
  • All year 5 students are eligble candidates.
  • Candidates must address the whole school with a speech prior to the election
  • Voting will be by secret ballot - voting may be preferential, first past the post or as decided by the Principal or nominee depending on the number of candidates
  • Six students will be elected. The first two becoming School Captains, third and fourth Vice Captains, and fifth and sixth Prefects
  • All students K-6 may vote. Staff are entitled to one vote each.
  • Those students elected will be notified immediately, after votes are tallied - and then announced at a full school assembly

Elections will be held as close as possible to week 6 or 7 in Term 4.

All candidates MUST be deemed SUITABLE.
Suitable refers to behaviour, attitude and approach to tasks. The Student Welfare Policy (Yellow Slip system) will be used as a reference point.
